Big Day Off, Big Plans (Random Diary)

Every day off I have I make these grandiose plans of what I will attempt to accomplish that day. Today is no different.

[Ed note: The caveat here is that all of these plans are usually superseded by real (meaning work around the house or going out to the store) errands.]

Usually I'll start off the day by reading hundreds of feeds that have piled up since my last day off and then hopefully with that information under my belt I'll construct one of my famous blog entries. Today I am trying something different in that I am going with the entry first and news later.

Then a bit later on in my day I plan to tackle some "big gaming situations" and by those I mean, something other than playing Gears of War 2 for hours at a time. Today for example, I am going to play the Halo Wars demo until my hands bleed so that I might prepare myself for the Gamestop Halo Wars Tournament. I have convinced myself of the notion that if I get to compete at all, I will win. Then after playing the Halo Wars demo, depending on the amount of time I have left myself, I will probably try and hop back into The Wasteland (Fallout 3) again today.

In reality I usually only complete about half of my plans and then I resort to playing Gears of War or something like it anyway.

I hope you have all enjoyed this little introspective look into my life; let me know in the comments if you care to read more like this.

My days off are very similar to that, except replace Gears of War 2 with World of Warcraft. I always have the intention of playing my other games, but always end up playing WoW instead.

Yesterday I ended up feeling quite accomplished.

I played the Halo Wars demo to boredom... meaning that I could not figure out a way to beat the enemy any better... though now that I think about it, I am going to give another tactic a shot.

Also I did not even touch GOW2 and I played Fallout after a month of not playing... even if I was only looking for Bobbleheads and Nuka-Cola Quantums.

Thinking big and not getting there? You are a true blogger, dear sir. Trust me, my days off are no different, except I'm usually working on lesson plans and the like.
